Pizza Fior di Margherita
dieci is recreating the mother of all pizzas: “Fior di Margherita” is the name of the latest creation. This is based on the Pizza Margherita with just a few high-quality ingredients. Gourmets and fans of the Italian classic will be delighted.
It was once the Pizza Margherita: created in 1780 by the Neapolitan chef Raffaele Esposito, who baked them for his queen Margherita. This is how the first type of pizza came about.
The simple but ingenious recipe quickly spread, making pizza a symbol of the Italian nation throughout the world. To this day, not only does it stimulate our taste buds, but the imagination of many chefs too: from raclette cheese to plantains, from avocado to Nutella - there is barely any ingredient that has not made it onto the famous pizza base.
Has it improved the pizza? Judge for yourself. In any case, at dieci we believe: less is more. Because there is great demand for our classic Pizza Margherita. This is why, with our new “Fior di Margherita” creation, we are going back to the original recipe and partly back to our Italian roots too.
Just like Raffaele Esposito, we select the delicate Fior di Latte balls by hand and place the generous pieces on the dough. At dieci, we use a premium Mozzarella Fior di Latte from Salerno for a particularly delicate, milky taste. Tomato sauce, fresh basil leaves, extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of Grana Padano complete our Fior di Margherita and turn it into a little masterpiece.
