A dieci branch as the secret star of a Tatort episode set in Zurich?
Our regular customers certainly won’t be fooled, but everyone else will probably struggle to identify the pizzeria featuring in the latest episode of Tatort as a dieci pizza branch. This is thanks to elaborate concealment and design work on the part of the production team. The result: a seemingly ordinary little pizzeria that the Tatort detective duo Isabelle Grandjean and Tessa Ott pay a visit to late at night.
A glimpse behind the scenes
Last year, dieci received a request from the production company Contrast Film to shoot at a dieci branch in Zurich’s historic centre. During the shoot, some of the dieci team who were in on the secret were allowed on set to watch all the goings-on – from 6.00 p.m. to 1.00 a.m. Corinne Bosshard, Head of Marketing at Dieci AG, says of the experience: “It was a truly interesting insight into a completely different world. And I am excited to see which members of our community will recognise the dieci branch on TV.”
About Tatort
The TV series Tatort (Crime Scene) is one of the longest-running fictional crime series in the German-speaking world. Alongside Zurich, other major European cities such as Hamburg, Vienna and Berlin have also served as settings for the criminal cases broadcast on Sunday evening – which has been when the series is broadcast ever since it first launched. The episodes are around 90 minutes in length and self-contained. This means that even Tatort newbies can follow the storyline. At 8.05 p.m. on 13 March 2022, the third episode of the Zurich-based Tatort – “Schattenkinder” – will be broadcast on the channel SRF.
The ideal TV snack to accompany it? We have a suitable suggestion: simply order dieci pizza, pasta or home-made gelato via our online shop to arrive in time for the episode.
