Purchase of sustainable foodstuffs
Wherever possible, raw materials and ingredients for dieci dishes come from Switzerland or from selected Italian producers. This ensures good quality, as well as the shortest possible transportation routes, and therefore fewer emissions.
You will see further examples here of how dieci is committed in the field of sustainability:
Flour
dieci flour for the bready pizza dough consists of 100% Swiss wheat. We have developed our own flour mix in cooperation with Lindmühle AG from Birmenstorf. Find out more about «dieci farina speciale» here.
Fish and seafood
dieci purchases certified seafood, tuna, anchovies and prawns.
ASC prawns
The Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) awards its label to fish from sustainable fish farming. The requirements for feeding and animal farming, ecology, working conditions and production chains must be fulfilled to enable certification. The ASC logo thereby certifies that the product has been assessed according to strict environmental protection criteria and social aspects.
MSC seafood, anchovies and tuna
The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) gives its label to products from sustainable fishing and also campaigns against overfishing of the seas. MSC develops and manages a traceability standard for a transparent and verifiable supply chain, too. This thereby ensures that catches from MSC-certified fishing activities remain identifiable and are not mixed with conventional goods. The MSC label applies to fish caught in the wild.
Vegetables
When it comes to vegetables, dieci also prefers products from Switzerland (seasonally determined) wherever possible. For the dieci Trenta anniversary pizza, the potatoes originated from the company’s own cultivation in Rapperswil for one month.
